Welcome to the Friends of the Sherwood Public Library website. As our name implies we are in existence to provide support and funding for programs that will benefit the library and the community of Sherwood. The Friends are a private, Non-Profit 501c3 corporation. Friends of the Sherwood Public Library was formally defined and organized by librarian Lavern Will and the Sherwood Public Library Board of Trustees on April 2, 1975. On May 7, 1975 a small group of library volunteers gathered and elected the first board and drew up by-laws. The first officers were: President - Nicki Poff Vice President - Jan Stark Secretary - Polly Blankenbaker Treasurer - Edith Hough Historian - Kathy Lopez The first activity was an open house and reception with guest speakers Mr & Mrs Vulysteke, owners of Oak Knoll Winery.
